kids crafts stepping stones
What is an affordable to make my own stepping stones for a walk way??

I want to make several stepping stones with my kids help for a walk way in my front yard. The kits in the craft stores don’t make very many, I need to make atleast 8-10.

This is fun and I’ve done it with my kids and grandkids. Use pans for your forms (cake pans, loaf pans, etc)…I pick them up at yard sales and thrift shops. Grease em with Vaseline and fill them with QuikCrete (mix according to the directions on the bag). Decorate with colored stones, glass, tiles…whatever. If you want hand/footprints you just have to wait til the QuikCrete has some stiffness to it and THEN press in the hands/feet. Let them dry at least 24 hours, then turn them out of the pans. Let them “cure” another 24 to 48 hours….then line your walkway. I’ve also experimented with color using crushed sidewalk chalk and kool aid powder…let your imagination go wild. Have fun and create memories.
