Kids’ Craft Ideas for a girl’s birthday party!?

My daughter is having her 12th birthday party next month, and she wants to do a craft. We already did foam crafts, jewelry crafts, and coloring crafts over the past few years, and I’m looking for something different and original, (but not too complicated!) for eight 12-yr-old girls. It’s a pool party with a luau/beach theme, but she likes monkeys and jungle stuff, too. Thanks!

You can use this process to make any number of personalized fabric items. I did it at Science camp between 8th and 9th grade so we can be certain that not many poeple have done it. I will use the example of a white t-shirt.

1. Place a piece of cardboard or poster board between the 2 layers of the t-shirt.
2. Start drawing your pattern/picture on the shirt with Sharpie markers.
3. Throughout the process of drawing spoon,eyedropper, squeeze bottle or whatever rubbing alcohol over the Sharpie lines.
4. let dry

This creates and instant tye dye like effect with alot less mess and time. This could be done on smaller pieces of fabric to make headbands or bandanas or anything else you can think of. Each girl can make whatever she likes best.
